Daugavpils University (DU), the second largest regional university in Latvia, has five faculties: the Faculty of Humanities, the Faculty of Social Sciences, the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, the Faculty of Music and Art, and the Faculty of Education and Management. DU offers 54 bachelor, master, and doctoral study programmes. DU has extensive experience of international collaboration and has experience of collaborating in past and on-going FP projects. The researchers engaged in this project are from the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences (IHSS), which has 29 research staff. The primary mission of the IHSS is to conduct high-quality interdisciplinary scientific and professional research in the field of social sciences and humanities. It embraces the full range of quantitative and qualitative research methods. Based on its research results, the IHSS provides expertise for policy makers and practitioners at the European, national, and regional levels.
